Greg was introduced to golf by his father at an early age. Initially, he was a baseball player, but became extremely passionate about golf in high school. He played for Clarion Area High School Bobcats in Pennsylvania all four years and was the team captain his senior year in 1989, qualifying for Districts and the State Championship. After graduating, he went to Clarion University of PA studying business administration and joined the Golden Eagles golf team. Again, he played four years and was the team captain his senior year in 1994. He was also the Assistant Coach of his high school team his junior and senior years while playing on the university team. After graduating, he moved to Florida with his college teammate, Chris Brosius. There he began his career as a golf professional, working at Jonathan’s Landing Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens & playing mini-tour events.

In 1997, Greg was the Assistant Golf Professional at Dubois Country Club in Dubois, PA. This is where he gave his first golf lessons as an Assistant Professional, learning from the Head Professional, Mark Powell. He competed in the Tri-State PGA Section events and practiced in Florida during the winter months. In 2001, he moved to New Jersey for a full time position as the 1st Assistant Professional at Hamilton Farm Golf Club. There he finished his apprenticeship and became a Class-A PGA Member. At that time he met Tiger Woods and watched him practice for five days. After meeting Tiger, he became seriously intrigued with the golf swing and wanted to learn how to teach the game at the highest level. In 2004, he accepted the 1st Assistant Professional position at Metedeconk National where he met Mike Bennett, one of the original founders of the Stack & Tilt method. He watched Mike teach and took lessons from him for one year before accepting a position at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. With Saucon Valley being one of the most prestigious clubs in the country, it was a chance to focus on all areas of being a PGA Professional. Gene Mattare, the Director of Golf, was a terrific mentor. Mr. Mattare won the national Ping custom fitter of the year award and the merchandiser of the year award three times. After learning every aspect of the golf industry from Mr. Mattare, Greg relocated to Raleigh to follow his dream of teaching the game of golf.

He’s also individually coaching eight of the twelve girls on the Cardinal Gibbons women’s golf team.  His goal is to develop junior golf in the Raleigh / Durham area and produce outstanding and successful players.
